Atlus recently revealed that Durarara!! characters Celty Sturluson, Izaya Orihara, and Shizuo Heiwajima will appear as cameo characters in Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker. The official website shares some more information on the guests.

The collaboration was done in part with the second season of Durarara!! which is scheduled to begin airing on January 10. As you may already know, the Devil Survivor games’ characters are designed by Durarara!! character designer, Suzuhito Yasuda, who also designed characters for Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth.

As for the guest characters, they’ll appear for a limited time as characters that you’ll get to recruit into your party in Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker. The official website also notes that they have tremendous skills.

The above video shows us a first look at the three characters, who can be summoned and put into your parties. Among their various skills, it shows Izaya using one that charms enemies, Shizuo has his trademark attack that will have him throw stop signs, cars, and other obstacles to deal big damage, and Celty uses a shadow ability that hits all foes.

While we’re not sure whether the collaboration will simply just add the characters for your party, Izaya can be downloaded from January 29 until February 4, Shizuo from February 5 to 11, and Celty from February 12 to 18.

Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker will release in North America sometime in early 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT. That is not even fair! Are we gonna get a chance at these guys or am I gonna have to dream of things that could have been?

    • Kelechuckuw K.c.W

I think it’s for japan only. So far Atleast until they say other wise. yeah the anime of Durarara!! made to the west of but ….

      • Wait what

The anime making it to the west already is likely the reason we won’t get them. licensing issues.

        • Kelechuckuw K.c.W

yeah you’d think that but there’s always something where they say that’s not the case. . we’ll have to wait & see if they say this is specifically coming to the west. from what was said in the article prior to this other looked it up and a rep for this game said no it’s not coming to the west . I ‘ll just wait til they say other wise .

    Russian Sushi…it’s Good!

    • natchu96

They absolutely do not use human flesh in sushi, even on discount days.

  • When are the sonic Persona’s going to happen?

    • Arizato

      Please don’t…

      • You see this, it’s going to happen. Atlus already going along with a lot of Sega’s crap, I didn’t think it would happen but this is kinda a nail in the coffin. Maybe not persona 5 but one day in the not to far future where Atlus tells us their 3ds game is worth 100 dollars digitally because we “Doubled the content, totally for reals and it’s like 1000 times better plus sonic.”

        • Guest

          Knock it off.

        • DaiRaiOh

There’s so much ignorance there, I don’t even know where to begin.

        • Featuring Itsuki of SmtXFe

          Huh?

        • HarakiriKami

maybe then we’ll finally get some phantasy star

        • ThatGuy3190_7

Sega said that Atlus will operate as is. The only exceptions are that they have to include Sega under their copyright stuff and Atlus is free to pick up any of Sega’s old IPs.

          • Companies say a lot of thing. They said that about that RTS series they own then they used their lets play policies rushed out their games, and pretty universally everyone thinks it was their buggiest and worse release. Anyone can say they are going to let people do their own thing but at the end of the day Sega’s gonna do what it thinks is best to make the most money.

Old Atlus wouldn’t have had Persona 5 on the ps4, it caused them to push the game back a bit because of that. Persona 5 via edition will likely be a thing ether way but I don’t think we would have saw a ps4 version. That’s just one thing of the many problems Atlus has seem to been creating since the struggles with index and then the sony buyout.

          • ThatGuy3190_7

I don’t know what RTS is or what it means, but so far, Atlus hasn’t had any issues with that. It also seems that you have a lot of doubt for things that has yet to happen. And of course Sega said they could use their old IPs but it’s also evident that Sega isn’t going to sit back and let the company who has permission to do whatever they want. For example, Square Enix and Disney are working together for Kingdom Hearts. If Square Enix allowed Disney to use Tomb Raider, then imagine a Disney-fied Tomb Raider. The original IP holder would want their IP to retain what made them great but at the same time, giving permission to another company under its belt is more like this: Okay, you can use Sonic the Hedgehog but he still has to go fast and stay true to its platforming roots. The borrowing company then must work its way around on developing a new game while keeping such key features intact.

Also, I see no issue with Persona 5 being delayed for it to be on the PS4 also. The first and foremost is that they promised that it will be on the PS3 on the first place, and it still will be, unlike what FF15 and Kingdom Hearts 3 is doing. Secondly, it’s also pushing for the next gen console. What would be the use of having a next gen console but still releasing games for the previous gen when it is almost well into its second year of release? It is common with 3rd party family games, but with something as big as Persona 5, not releasing it on PS4 is having to be missed out on money that was to be made. Atlus is still adhering to its fanbase while thinking of ways to make money in order to make and release more great games.

          • The Sega Series I was talking about was Totalwar, they bought their studio and have really, at the current moment screwed them up. Your Disney and Square thing doesn’t really make sense since that’s two companies that don’t own each other, that’s like saying because coke is sold at a place maybe it gets the rights to use a thing. Sega owns Atlus, Atlus could be gone tomorrow, it’s just an extension of Sega now.

In terms of things Atlus has done, annual 50 dollar 3ds releases, and on disc dlc in all their titles. Look Atlus use to be my number one company in the world but since SMT4 they have really gotten worse and worse. I still have high hopes for Persona 5 but they lost my Auto buy any game with their name factor.

Be it bad or not isn’t the thing I was saying. Atlus did the same thing with Persona 4 they were going to do with 5 last generation. They did the ps2 release at the end of the ps2’s life. I’m just saying old Atlus would not have done that move. They would have road it out and if the fans demanded a port after they would have made it so if they thought it was worth their time. Also lots of companies are relasing games on the ps3, 19 games are launching on ps3 2015 that I can think of. Their is actually more money in releasing a niche title on the system more people own.

    • ZetaSiren

Lol once Sonic gets a good game

      • Blasturhd

So like 4 years ago with Sonic Colors? Or a couple o years back with generations?

        • ThatGuy3190_7

It’s like people think those games don’t exist yet they pay more attention to Sonic 06 and Sonic Boom (and to an extent, Sonic Lost World) and automatically claim that Sonic is getting worse just from 2 or 3 games alone.

          • HarakiriKami

Lost world is a good game that was messed up

            needed more time

      • Nah sonic boom versions only. They actually kill shadows with bugs.

    • Mexikado

      Would they be called… fursonas?

  • Nagi
