Prince Of Tennis II Game Doesn’t Have Much Tennis, But It Has Plenty Of Voice Acting

By Spencer . January 12, 2015 . 11:20pm

FuRyu is developing a video game based on The Prince of Tennis II, but if you were expecting to play tennis against Ryoma this isn’t the game for you. The Prince of Tennis II: Go to the Top is actually a dating sim.

You play as a female journalist who wants to get a scoop at the U-17 training camp. While you’re interviewing the tennis team you might bond with them and maybe even go on a date. That’s why FuRyu put full voice acting as a key feature instead of actual tennis.

The Prince of Tennis II: Go to the Top is scheduled to come out on March 5, 2015.

I was just complaining the other day about how you guys don’t report enough about otome games. I mean, you haven’t mentioned Harukanaru 6, or the Angelique (1st otome) port, or that otome about vampires/wolves hybrid, or Possession Magenta (which kinda reminds me of persona), or the otome port that the 3ds is getting. Yeah, sure, I’m obsessive and I get that kinda of news elsewhere but think of my fellow comrades who aren’t as obsessive as me!

Anyway, isn’t Ryoma 12? Not that I wouldn’t make the MC date a shota.

    • Yeah I was wondering about that. Like, I’m not familiar with this series in particular but since sports anime in general tends to take place in high school it would mean the dudes are underaged by default. I guess you’re not supposed to think about it too hard?

      • Presumably not, this isn’t going to spiral into H territory and seems to be focusing on the journey (dates, interactions, massages and chatter) rather than the destination.

Judging from a look at the Wiki, there are high schoolers but the main character is 12 through and through unless they aren’t bothered to mention any timeskips or something.

    • The world needs more otome news indeed. Some news takes a little while to pop up but I’ll look up the stuff you mentioned it and see if I can share it (not that means I guarantee articles).

If you want to share more names, I’d appreciate them at the least for personal reasons.

On Ryoma… I don’t read Prince of Tennis, but he is 12 for the entire length of the series? I guess our invisible protagonist/female journalist doesn’t have an image or confirmed age. Perhaps this is so that the player can choose at the beginning or not be shoehorned into one group over another.

        Sure! I can share, lol.

I already mentioned Harukanaru and Angelique, but KT’s upcoming 3DS port is La Corda D’Oro 3 Full Voice Special, and they have also released Geten no Hana for ios/android.

Once again, Hakuoki has been released in English but this time for mobile and only in Asia. Otomate themselves are releasing another Hakuoki port (maybe 2?), another Dialovers game, 2 Norn9 games, Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly, Reines des Fleurs, Klap! ~Kind Love and Punishment, Shinobi Koi Utsutsu, Clock Zero, Hanayaka Nari Waga Ichizoku, and Hyaka Yakou.

Quinrose: Sweet Never Land, Crimson Empire, Wizard and the Master, Genji Koi Emaki, 12 Ji no Kane no Cinderella, and School Wars.

D3P: Vamwolf Cross and Otoko Yuukaku. OY is kinda of a special title because D3P actually released its mobile counterpart in English, and they promised that if their mobile stuff does well enough that they could probably release more otome related merchandise.

The vita is also getting Ken ga Kimi, Sweet Clown, Ozmafia!!, and a Gakuen Heaven game (bl).

As for PoT, I think people were complaining because only the young guys are dateable. But I don’t really know that much about the game.

I so wish we’d hear something about more otome localizations. It feels like it has been so long since we heard about Ozmafia, lol! I’m ready for some more good news for western otome fans. :)
