Finally, the latest update on the website talks about a new “Formation Skill” system.

neptunevii_formation_150212 This skill can be done with two, three, or four characters in a party, which activates as part of a special cooperative skill. The Formation Skill can be found in the “Skill” options.

In order to use it, you’ll need to box in your enemy, using the lines that connect the characters. You’ll need to set your members to either their CPU forms or normal forms, then charge up the EXE Drive Gauge, and then it can be activated to pull off a powerful skill.

More details on what kind of Formation Skills there are, will be revealed in the near future.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II will release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for PlayStation 4.
