Famicom Kunio-kun Game Gets A Sequel On Nintendo 3DS

Downtown Special: Kunio-kun’s History Play Everyone Gather! (Kunio-kun no Jidaigeki Dayo Zeninshugo!) originally released for the Famicom in 1991, and this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine reports that it’s getting a new sequel for Nintendo 3DS. [Thanks, Zaregoto]

The game is titled Downtown Hot-Blooded Historic Play (Downtown Nekketsu Jidaigeki) and it takes place several years after the original Famicom title. The game features four characters per party that is made up of Kunimasa, Tsurumatsu, and two followers.

There’s a new “Katana Action” feature to the game that will allow you to use katanas, which are pretty powerful, but will use up stamina upon each use, and you won’t be able to bring it back if your stamina completely runs out.

In addition to the story mode, there’s also a mission mode and battle royale mode, where you’ll get to enjoy battles. The battle royale can be played with up to four other players in local connectivity.

Downtown Hot-Blooded Historic Play will release for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on May 28, 2015.
