When it comes to powerful One Piece characters, not many match up with the Whitebeard Pirates, or the vice admiral Monkey D. Garp and his fellow Marines admirals in Akainu and Kizaru. Bandai Namco’s latest trailer shows an impressive class of characters.
Edward “Whitebeard” Newgate might no longer be part of the world as far as the One Piece series goes, but he’s a playable character in One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3, where you’ll get to go wild using his Gura Gura no Mi’s destructive quake-based powers.
The second video shows Marco the Phoenix, the 1st division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, who uses his Mythical Zoan abilities to turn into a phoenix. He appears to excel at range and mobility, just as you’d expect from a character of his caliber.
Admiral Kizaru has one of the best Logia-type Devil’s Fruit abilities with the light-based Pika Pika no Mi. He can make it rain down rays of light against his opponents and has exceptional range using various abilities.
While I’m pretty sure most of us still hate the now-Marine fleet admiral for what he did to Ace, there’s no denying his prowess using his Magu Magu no Mi’s magma-based attacks, which he uses to simply wipe out the small fry pirates.
Luffy’s grandpa, Monkey D. Garp, might not have any Devil’s Fruit abilities, but he more than makes up for it using raw strength and his monstrous punching ability, which he uses to instantly knock out a bunch of enemies at once.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 sets sail in Japan on March 26, 2015, and in the West this summer for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC.
