Popular PC Space Flight Sim Kerbal Space Program Is Heading To PS4

Space flight sim Kerbal Space Program has been quite the hit on PC despite it being in Early Access for four years and only getting a 1.0 version in April 2015. Now it’s heading to PlayStation 4.

The game’s producer made the announcement with a post in the game’s forums. The first concern that the team behind Kerbal Space Program had regarding a console version of the game was that the game’s complexity might not be captured on a controller. After all, you have to put together each individual part of your space rocket. “Thankfully, the PS4 controller has systems that make building and flying rockets just as easy and intuitive as the PC version,” wrote the producer.

The second big point in the forum post is that the original team isn’t working on the PS4 port but a studio called Flying Tiger Entertainment is. “They have experience and have shown us time and time again that they were simply the right choice to make sure that the players receive a quality game on their PS4, and not a lazy port,” writes Kerbal Space Program’s producer.

Lastly, it was iterated that the development of the PS4 version won’t slow progress on future updates to the PC version and, in fact, has helped to speed it up due to being able to work with Flying Tiger. No word on when we can expect Kerbal Space Program to arrive on PS4 was given.
