Minecraft’s First Wii U Appearance Will Be Story Mode

The Verge spoke with Job Stauffer, Telltale Games’ Director of Creative Communications, and learned that Minecraft: Story Mode will be coming to more platforms than originally planned. Initially set to release on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac, it will now be coming to the Nintendo Wii U as well.

Minecraft: Story Mode’s release will mark the first time any Minecraft game appears on one of Nintendo’s systems. Similar titles, like Stone Shire, Cube Creator 3D, Battleminer, and Cube Life: Island Survival, have been released on both the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U.

Minecraft: Story Mode’s first episode will be released on consoles, PCs, and mobile devices in 2015. It will be playable at PAX Prime on August 28-31.
