Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s Companion App Is Now Available On Smartphone

Recommended Videos

If you’re playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain then you may want to grab the game’s official companion app for iOS or Android. It works with the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions of the game (Xbox 360 and PC versions aren’t compatible).

By linking the app to the console version of the game (requires a WiFi connection), you are able to use your smartphone’s screen to navigate the game’s world in iDroid Mode, viewing maps of the areas and calling in support helicopters.

While you’re not playing The Phantom Pain, the companion app doubles up as a way to listen to the game’s soundtrack at any time, though you will need to reach a certain point in the game using the iDroid Mode to do so.
