Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X Adds A New RPG-Style Live Quest Mode

Recommended Videos

Sega recently announced Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X as the latest entry in the series for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. This week’s issue of Famitsu magazine provides details on what’s new in the upcoming title. [Thanks, Hachima.]

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X has a Free Play Mode that lets you freely enjoy the regular rhythm game parts, but the new “Live Quest Mode” adds a new kind of gameplay.

Live Quest Mode:

Players will get to choose quests that are spread across five different areas, where Miku and friends level up using the power of songs to clear stages. This is done by filling up a certain amount of Voltage in the stages.

The “Diva Room” from past titles will be the base of the Live Quest Mode. As you advance through quests, you’ll get to see events that feature conversations amongst the characters.

Rush Notes:

The “Rush Notes” are a new feature in Project Diva X. During a music game, you’ll see the word “Rush” show up on the screen. When it appears, you’ll get to press the corresponding buttons repeatedly for higher scores.

Module Drop:

Modules were costumes that were previously acquired through Diva Points in the past titles, but this time they’ll be acquired by completing clear requirements for quests and successfully getting the “Chance Time.”  The modules will be acquired randomly, but there will be quests that have a higher chance of dropping certain Modules.

Here are some of the Modules and tracks that have been revealed for the game:

  • “Renai Saiban” by 40mP—Judgment Module

  • “Raspberry Monster” by HoneyWorks—Raspberryism Module

  • “Strangers” by Heavenz-P—Silent Voice Module

Additionally, the magazine confirms the following Vocaloids for the game: Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, Kaito, and Meiko.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X will release in Japan in March 2016 for PlayStation Vita and fall 2016 for PlayStation 4.
