This news story will have some minor Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain spoilers.

A new Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain patch brings the game up to version 1.06. After downloading the update, one mission in particular changes. If a player meets a specific condition, Quiet, a party member who permanently leaves, is able to return to the Diamond Dogs.

To bring Quiet back to base, a players must have passed Mission 45: A Quiet End. It is then possible to play Mission 11: Cloaked in Silence a total of seven times to make her an ally again in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The character will retain all equipment and return to the group as though nothing had changed. All a player has to do is complete her recruitment mission once its title has changed to “[Reunion] Cloaked in Silence.”

Bringing Quiet back is an optional action, so those satisfied with the original story can go on without her. The patch is live on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
