Monokuma Will be New Danganronpa V3’s Only Familiar Face

Famitsu has new information about New Danganronpa V3 ahead of Spike Chunsoft’s announcement event this week. While next week will have more comprehensive reveals, it has been announced that Monokuma will be the series’ only returning character.

New Danganronpa V3 will not follow Hope’s Peak Academy or any of the characters from the school that appeared in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc or Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. It will still be a visual novel with adventure and exploration elements, and the initial footage seems to suggest players will still collect data for Truth Bullets. As the screenshot from Famitsu on the right shows, the story will still be divided into chapters and allow characters to press buttons during dialogue to get more information on a highlighted topic.

The New Danganronpa V3 Project Announcement Event will be held on December 2 at 3:30pm JT. New Danganronpa V3: New Semester for Everyone’s Killing will be released on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in 2016.
