M. Bison And Necalli Steal The Show In Street Fighter V’s Opening Cinematic

Capcom has released the opening movie for Street Fighter V. While it’s often difficult to set the tone of a game in such a brief of time, the video does a sufficient job.

The Street Fighter V opening cinematic begins with Ryu, walking toward the screen. It transitions into Chun-Li, Cammy, and Ken fighting M. Bison, then switches to a match between Rashid and F.A.N.G. Finally, the video closes with Ryu fighting a V-Triggered Necalli. A lot happens in those 37 seconds.

The opening video also offers a hint as to character alliances going in to Street Fighter V. Capcom hasn’t said much about the story mode yet, but M. Bison and F.A.N.G. are clearly set up as antagonists, due to M. Bison being himself and F.A.N.G.’s membership in Shadaloo. The video sets up as a potential antagonist as well.

Street Fighter V will come to the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC on February 16.
