The Good Smile Company has been releasing Pokemon trainer Nendoroids since 2014. It all began with Red, who was followed by Cynthia and N. The Red trainer has been the most rare, but he’s getting a rerelease in honor of the 20th anniversary of Pokemon. However, this time he’s coming back as a Champion.
The Pokemon Trainer Red: Champion Ver. Nendoroid was announced alongside the new Nintendo 2DS and New 3DS bundles this morning. He will come with the Pokemon Trainer Red Nendoroid released in 2014, however his Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle have been replaced with a Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. All three Pokemon come with visual effect parts to make it look as though they are performing attacks. Blastoise has water to shoot from his cannons, Charizard comes with pillars of flame, and Venusaur has vines that appear to come from the ground.
The Pokemon Center will be the only retailer selling the Pokemon Trainer Red: Champion Ver. Nendoroid. A price and release date have yet to be announced. The original Pokemon Trainer Nendoroid was $49.99, but didn’t include such large, additional figures.
