Starting March, Nintendo is debuting their “My Nintendo” service alongside the new Miitomo app, and the company shared some details on perks that players can get from the new program.
My Nintendo will debut for 39 countries this March, and the goal of the program is to reach out at least 100 million users. When the service launches, it’ll feature a points program that rewards players in different ways. Here’s a look at some of its bonuses:
Platinum Points will reward customers with digital content, and original goods. These points are acquired by using apps on smartphone and logging into the Nintendo eShop, but you won’t get any from Wii U or Nintendo 3DS games.
As for the Gold Points, they can be exchanged for coupons that discount digital software for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS titles. These are acquired by buying content from the Nintendo eShop.
The Miitomo app will have a Miiphoto function, which lets you play around with different kinds of pictures featuring Miis, as shown in the image to th eleft. These can then be shared through various social media network platforms.
Miitomo will be available in eight languages of Japanese, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, and Russian. It will debut for the following 16 countries of Japan, United States, Canada, England, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Luxemburg, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Pre-registers for Miitomo will be available starting February 17 for the above countries, and will launch in Japan sometime in the middle of March. You can read more about the Miitomo and Nintendo Account service in our earlier report.
