Gloczus Explains Why The Beastmaster And Prince Kickstarter Doesn’t Have A Vita Stretch Goal

Recommended Videos

Beastmaster and Prince: Flower and Snow is an Idea Factory otome visual novel currently searching for funding on Kickstarter. The money people contribute would help make a Windows PC port of the game happen. However, the only stretch goal is set at $151,000 and would port the game to Apple iOS and Android devices. Given that the game originally appeared on the PlayStation 2, with PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita ports, people had been asking Gloczus why there wasn’t a PlayStation Vita stretch goal. The latest update explains why the Kickstarter doesn’t have one.

Gloczus explains that a PlayStation Vita Kickstarter stretch goal for Beastmaster and Prince: Flower and Snow was considered. However, they estimate the cost would be $150,000, the same amount as the current project goal for the Windows PC version of the game. It also sited Sony’s network being divided into different regions, noting that the game would have to be approved in all regions. Since the company didn’t think that would happen before the Kickstarter ended, it didn’t pursue the stretch goal.

However, Gloczus didn’t completely rule out an English version of Beastmaster and Prince: Flower and Snow for the PlayStation Vita. The update noted that it would explore the option if the game was successfully released on Steam.

The Beastmaster and Prince: Flower and Snow Kickstarter will end on March 12, 2016. The funding goal is $150,000, and just over $59,000 has been raised as of 12pm CT on March 4, 2016. If successful, the Windows PC game will arrive on Steam by September 2016.
