Details On King Dedede And Meta Knight In Kirby: Planet Robobot

Recommended Videos

This week’s issue of Famitsu featured some new information on Kirby: Planet Robobot, including more on the robot modes as well as King Dedede and Meta Knight. [Thanks, Nintendo Everything.]

First off, here are some more details of three more robot modes:

– Stone Mode: Can punch with giant hands. Other than that it can also punch the ground for a wide-range attack, or use the giant hands to defend from enemy attacks.

– Mic Mode: Attack with ear-splitting sounds from 4 big speakers. The damage range is very far.

– Esper/ESP Mode: Attack with Psycho Thunders thrown from Robobot’s hands. By launching four giant electric balls at once, it’s possible to attack multiple enemies simultaneously.

A Robobot gimmick was also revealed in the issue, showing that inserting Robobot’s arm into a screw hole will allow you to rotate a platform by spinning the Circle Pad according to the direction shown at the top left.

Famitsu’s article also shined some light on King Dedede and Meta Knight’s appearances in the game. King Dedede appears as actually not himself but a clone created from his cells. The clone views Kirby as his greatest rival and attacks as soon as he is encountered. From the article, it appears Meta Knight becomes captured and controlled somehow via a device attached to his mask.

Kirby: Planet Robobot will release for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on April 28th and in North America and Europe on June 10th.
