Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge has made its official Nintendo eShop debut in North America and Europe. Previously, people were able to gain early access to the amiibo-fixated Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U game by purchasing one of Nintendo’s NFC figures between March 25, 2016 and April 27, 2016. However, as of April 28, 2016, the game is free to download.
Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge is an entry in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong line. The goal is to guide the mini character, based on the amiibo you scanned, from one point in a level to another, by placing girders that guide them along a safe and productive path. Depending on the level, it may be possible to guide a specific mini to a certain door to reach areas catering to it and its unique skillset.
People need to tap an amiibo to the New Nintendo 3DS screen or Nintendo Wii U GamePad to play through Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge‘s levels. (Nintendo 3DS owners will need an amiibo NFC reader to play.) The Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Rosalina, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Donkey Kong, and Diddy Kong amiibo each have their own set of levels in the game. People can use any of those 10 specific figures to also play some general levels. People who don’t have one of those 10 will find that scanning other amiibos will allow them to go through the general levels as Mini Spek.
