People with PlayStation platforms will get to head down the well on May 24, 2016. Downwell will arrive on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita that day in both North America and Europe. It’s a $4.99 cross-buy game.
In Downwell, players follow a man who hops into a well in a park and finds it filled with monsters, ruins, and gems. He continually plummets downwards, using gunboots to shoot enemies below or slow his descent. Gems can be collected to boost your score and they can be spent in shops to restore health or increase charge bars. After completing a level in each area, people are allowed to pick a random power-up. Eventually, different stances are earned that alter how many hit points a character has or offers special skills, like a floaty jump.
The PlayStation Vita version of Downwell will also support Tate Mode. It’s a layout that allows a person to hold the handheld vertically and play, to mimic the original Apple iOS and Android experiences.
Downwell is immediately available on Apple iOS, Android, and Windows.
