Two new characters are available in the Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. While both Morrie and Red appeared in the original PlayStation 2 release, neither were playable. However, they can join the party in the portable port and, to help people see what they’re capable of doing, Nintendo has released trailers to introduce both of them.

Morrie Mozzarella runs the Monster Arena in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. In the original installment, you needed capture three monsters to prove you’re worthy of entering the arena.

Red is a pirate and thief that’s well acquainted with Yangus. In the PlayStation 2 release, She appeared in multiple questlines.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King will come to the Nintendo 3DS on January 20, 2016.
