SaGa Creator Says The Series Can Go On As Long As There’s Fan Demand

Recommended Videos

Square Enix released SaGa: Scarlet Grace in Japan on December 15, and series creator Akitoshi Kawazu had a bit to say about its development and what’s next in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]

Kawazu on SaGa: Scarlet Grace’s development

Akitoshi Kawazu: I had the personal objective of defining “what is SaGa?” I believe that this time around with this title, we were able to start out saying that what we have here is that SaGa.

When asked about if the SaGa series will continue from here on

I believe that if the fans would like to see it continue, then I think it’ll continue. I believe that the SaGa series can continue in a sense of “RPGs from now on can also be expressed this way.” From this point on, we plan on continuing to go with this direction with seriousness, to keep making games that are sharp, difficult, and painful.

SaGa: Scarlet Grace is available in Japan for PlayStation Vita.
