North American eShop Adds Bomberman 64 And ACA NeoGeo Games

This week’s North American eShop update brings the Virtual Console up to date with the rest of the world. Nintendo Wii U owners will be able to play Bomberman 64 on their systems as of today. In addition, while they aren’t technically Virtual Console games, Nintendo Switch owners will be able to enjoy some blasts from the past with Hamster’s six ACA NeoGeo games.

Bomberman 64 originally appeared on the Nintendo 64 in 1997. It offers both a single player campaign and multiplayer Bomberman action. In the single player campaign, people follow Bomberman as he attempts to stop the space pirates Altair, Artemis, Orion, and Regulus from stealing Planet Bomber’s energy. Instead of arenas, it actually has Bomberman going through a 3D world. The multiplayer allows up to four people to play in a free-for-all or team battles. It is $9.99 on the Nintendo Wii U eShop.

The six ACA NeoGeo games available on the Nintendo Switch span multiple genres and are $7.99 each. Here’s a list of what’s available and the genres each falls into.

  • ACA NeoGeo The King of Fighters ‘98 (fighting)
  • ACA NeoGeo Metal Slug 3 (run-and-gun)
  • ACA NeoGeo NAM-1975 (shooter)
  • ACA NeoGeo Shock Troopers (run-and-gun)
  • ACA NeoGeo Waku Waku 7 (fighting)
  • ACA NeoGeo World Heroes (fighting)
