Project Rap Rabbit Switches Up Its Stretch Goals

When Project Rap Rabbit came to Kickstarter, the people behind the Masaya Matsuura and Keiichi Yano project had a set of stretch goals. Versions beyond the planned PlayStation 4 and PC iterations. An Xbox One port would be pursued at $3,100,000, while a Nintendo Switch release would only be considered if $4,950,000 was raised. However, demand from backers have led to the Stretch Goals being removed and reviewed.

The Project Rap Rabbit staff says that they received an overwhelming number of requests to “significantly lower” the amount of money needed to bring the game to the Nintendo Switch. As a result, they are going back to the drawing board and will be prioritizing that particular stretch goal. After this review is done, new stretch goals will be posted to the project page.

In case you missed it, these were the original Project Rap Rabbit stretch goals.

  • $1,100,000 – Game funded: six levels
  • $1,800,000 – Premium Explorer Kit. Includes backer-only level and backer-only Toto-Maru costume
  • $2,300,000 – French, Italian, German, and Spanish localization for menus and cutscenes
  • $3,100,000 – Xbox One version
  • $3,500,000 – One extra level: eight in total
  • $3,900,000 – Multiplayer VS mode
  • $4,400,000 – Extra difficulty level: four in total
  • $4,950,000 – Nintendo Switch version and three backer-only VS mode costumes

Project Rap Rabbit is currently seeking $1,104,107 in funding on Kickstarter for a PlayStation 4 and PC version of the game.
