A War of the Chosen expansion is coming to XCOM 2, and it is going to bring new alien champions, factions, soldier classes, and kind of enemy. It will arrive on August 29, 2017.
A few details were offered on the new characters and challenges. The three Chosen have come to Earth to recapture the Commander. The Assassin and Warlock are among these three. As you face off against them, they will grow and gain new abilities. They’ll be accompanied by Spectres, a new kind of alien that makes copies of XCOM soldiers. To make things even more difficult, the Lost, mutated humans that look a bit like zombies, might start appear on the edges of War of the Chosen’s maps as battles drag on.
Fortunately, players will be able to get to know the Reaper, Skirmisher, and Templar factions. Getting to know them will allow you to pull new soldiers from those three new classes and add them to your army. New Covert Actions and Resistance Orders are going to be available in the Avenger. A SITREP system lets you form bonds between soldiers to gain new abilities.
A new way to check your XCOM 2 prowess will be added. A Challenge Mode will offer the community challenges on a regular basis. Your performance will be ranked and appear on an online leaderboard.
XCOM 2 is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
