Now that E3 2017 is about to begin, Sega has released some new trailers for both Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. This means people can enjoy a bit of a bookend this morning. They can watch the remake of the original Yakuza, then flash forward into the future to see the most recent adventures of Kazuma Kiryu and his friends.
As a reminder, Yakuza Kiwami is a completely remade version of the original game. It is in HD, has rerecorded Japanese voices, and will have all kinds of new events and storylines. (Not to mention Majima Everywhere!) Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is a totally new adventure using the Dragon Engine. As a change of pace, this installment focuses entirely on Kazuma and does not jump between multiple characters’ viewpoints.
