Previously-Unreleased Stage From Crash Bandicoot Is Now Available In N. Sane Trilogy

In the original Crash Bandicoot released back in 1996, one stage in particular was ultimately not added to the final version of the game because Naughty Dog decided the level was simply far too difficult. The stage, called Stormy Ascent, has now been added to Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy as free DLC through August 19th. After that, it will cost $2.99.

You can check out the trailer for the Stormy Ascent stage in the following video.

In an interview over on the PlayStation Blog, the level’s original designer, Taylor Kurosaki, reflected on the stage, noting that “it was playable, but just too damn difficult.” Kurosaki went on to say that, because of time constraints, the data for the stage remained on the game disk, but was inaccessible without the use of a GameShark.
