Dragon Quest XI Will Have Its Own Version Of “Shiny” Rare Monsters

Recommended Videos

Dragon Quest XI releases this Saturday in Japan and Square Enix shared one last surprise in this week’s issue of Jump magazine with “Reincarnated Monsters,” the Dragon Quest version of “Shiny” monsters.

The “Reincarnated Monsters” are basically special monsters that have been reincarnated into different forms. They can be extra fearsome, extra cute, or even super extra rare.

While these Reincarnated Monsters are generally rare and hard to come by, they’re obvious to spot out when they do. They also have different names such as the “Arakurepanda (Untamed Panda),” “Heart Knight,” “Saboten Gold,” and “Golden Cone” that we see in the scan.

There are also specific quests where NPCs will ask you to find certain Reincarnated Monsters. Doing so will likely get you some fine rewards, especially with one that asks you to hunt down the a Saboten Gold (Golden Cactiball) to make a steak.

Dragon Quest XI releases in Japan on July 29, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS. The game is also in development for Nintendo Switch.
