Players will seduce and deceive rivals, send enemies into social ruin, and carefully position themselves to come out on top in pre-revolutionary France in Ambition: A Minuet in Power.
A lone young woman, Yvette, is alone in France, the love of her life gone, her family far away, and talk of revolution coming to her ears. It’s from this position that she decides to rise through the country’s political world, carving out her own place within it so that she gains power, influence, and a chance at surviving the deadly uprising that is to come.
Each rise to power comes with different complications, as the world and its specific political situation is generated for every new game. From there, players will have to get themselves into all of the right parties (without exhausting themselves without keeping too busy), and from there, use powers to seduce, impress, or trick the people there, which will increase Yvette’s social standing. Once these people start to like her, she can then start playing them off of each other, or using them to take out rivals or give her even further power.
Fashion will also play a role in Yvette’s political moves. Players will choose from various different dresses for her to wear, many taken from paintings and fashion plates of the era, to impress those she means to manipulate. She will need every edge she gets in order to keep herself safe from the upcoming revolution, after all.
Ambition: A Minuet in Power is currently expected to release in Q2 2018. A Kickstarter is expected to begin soon.
