Etrian Odyssey V’s Masurao Makes The Cut

Recommended Videos

A new Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth trailer has appeared! This time, we get to learn more about a class for the Therian. This is a new race of humanoid creatures with animal characteristics and incredible strength. (Female Therians look a bit like Final Fantasy’s Viera.) One of their two initial classes is the Masurao, which seems a bit like a samurai.

The Masurao video shows how this class functions in battle. They are frontline attackers that use katanas and have skills like Whirlwind, which hit multiple targets. As they improve in skill, they can go from wielding one sword to as many as four. One notable skill is New Challenger, which makes a rare enemy appear. In the footage below, using New Challenger causes a shiny Colossal Roper to appear. Other abilities shown in the skill list there are Air Blade, Armor Pierce, Swallow Soar, Haze Slash, and High Ground.

Previous Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth class trailers include ones for the Hound, the Dragoon, the Warlock, and the Fencer.

Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth will come to the Nintendo 3DS on October 17, 2017.
