Up until now Atlus used third-party publishing partners such as Deep Silver and Koch for releasing titles in Europe, but the company will be handling its own titles with a new team based in London. [Thanks, gameindustry.biz.]
According the report, the move for Atlus to begin operating in Europe is part of the company’s acquisition by Sega. The new team includes commercial director Simon Inch, and are looking to add a PR manager and a product marketing manager. All three will operate in Sega Europe’s offices in London.
Atlus says that it will enable them to better support fans with the special edition sets as well as products that they currently offer in the US and other markets.
Here’s a quote from Atlus US senior PR manager, Jacob Nahin:
“It is a strong example of the growth we are experiencing as a company. Publishing in Europe is simply the next step for us. What this means initially for fans is a parity for launch and premium editions. From a business perspective, we’ll be better positioned to address the needs of each market in which we release our titles.”
