Sonic the Hedgehog Creator Yuji Naka Joins Square Enix

Yuji Naka, one of the three main creators of Sonic the Hedgehog, who worked as a programmer and producer for the series, announced on his Twitter account that he joined Square Enix sometime earlier this month.

Here’s the tweet:

Yuji Naka first joined Sega back in 1983 where he worked as a programmer on titles such as Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Phantasy Star, and more. He was the lead programmer for Sonic the Hedgehog and continued working on the series as the leader of the Sonic Team until his departure in 2006 where he founded an independent game development company called Prope, known for its development on titles such as Digimon Adventure on PSP and more recently Rodea the Sky Soldier.

Now that Naka-san is a part of Square Enix, it should be fun to see what kind of title he comes up with next.
