Ni No Kuni II Behind The Scenes Trailer Looks At How Its Characters Were Created

Bandai Namco has released a new Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom trailer that helps people get a better idea of how characters like Evan and Roland were shaped and designed. Behind the Scenes: Giving Life to the Characters takes almost four minutes to show off footage from the game and discuss what Level-5 wanted to achieve with the game.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom’s Giving Life to the Characters begins with character designer Yoshiyuki Momose talking about how he wanted characters people could sympathize with. He also notes that they were designed to have crisp, clear lines, but not look like flat, 2D figures in the world. In addition, Akihiro Hino, the Story & General Director, and Takafumi Koukami, the Director, join him to talk about specific design elements and characters. For example, Evan was easy to create, but Roland took longer to figure out.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will come to the PlayStation 4 and PC on March 23, 2018.
