Recently, Atelier series producer Junzou Hosoi and Atelier Lydie & Suelle producer Keisuke Kikuchi sat down to talk about how the game was received and post-launch support, as well as how the game did overall. [Thanks, Gamer.ne!]

Here are the highlights:

Gamer.ne: It’s been one month since the release, and how have player reactions been like? (This interview was taken in late January)

Keisuke Kikuchi, Atelier Lydie & Suelle producer: “We received a certain amount of praise, but we also received some criticisms regarding the graphics and technical aspects for each console version of the game. We want to address this in some way in the future.”

Gamer.ne: This time the game came out for PS4, PS Vita, and Switch, but what was the ratio of players on each platform?

Kikuchi: “Around half of the players played on PlayStation 4, and the remaining half was evenly split between PS Vita and Nintendo Switch players. Regarding the Switch, physical copies of the game were sold out by the end of the year, and many players bought the digital version.”

Gamer.ne: What are the future prospects for the Atelier series?

Kikuchi: “Although there’s nothing we can talk about now, we may be able to announce something around the time the DLC and other content for this game become playable, if development goes smoothly.”

Atelier Lydie & Suelle is available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation Vita in Japan. The game is available in the US on March 27, 2018, and in Europe on March 30, 2018, for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can read our playtest of the game here.
