On July 12, 2018, Nathan Fillion began teasing some sort of Uncharted project on Instagram. Now, the internet knows why. An almost 15 minute long Uncharted fan film starring Fillion as Nathan Drake has been uploaded to YouTube. It is directed by Allan Ungar, the director and writer of Gridlocked and Tapped Out.
The Uncharted fan film begins with Drake being captured by minions of a person looking for a treasure he might have taken. In addition to Drake, Sully makes a cameo.
The actual Uncharted movie remains in limbo. It initially came to light in 2009. It has gone through multiple writers, directors and possible stars. Most recently, Joe Carnahan noted he finished a script in January 2017 and Spider-Man’s Tom Holland was brought on to portray a younger version of Drake.
