Atlus Is Teasing The “Next Stage” For Etrian Odyssey With A Mysterious Teaser Trailer

Recommended Videos

Atlus uploaded a new teaser trailer that gives us a glimpse of what’s to come with a bit of background art and silhouettes of characters for “SQ,” or Etrian Odyssey.

While the trailer doesn’t tell us much, it comes with the message “SQ, 胎動。To the next stage” (along the lines of “SQ is alive. To the next stage”). The Etrian Odyssey series in Japan is often abbreviated as SQ for its title Sekaiju no Meikyuu  (as Sekaiju no MeiQ), so it sounds a lot like a possible Etrian Odyssey for Switch, but we’ll keep an eye for more future announcements.

Etrian Odyssey X director Shigeo Komori shared the following message on the series’ official Twitter account:

“Etrian Odyssey X is, at last, the Etrian Odyssey series’ 10th title. To have been able to continue the series this far is thanks to the support from fans who played all of the titles up until now. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

“As we’ve told you from the beginning, Etrian Odyssey X is a compilation of everything from the Etrian Odyssey series thus far, and it’ll also be the very last Etrian Odyssey on 3DS. However, that means the last one “on 3DS.” In other words, being the last on the 3DS makes it a declaration of a new beginning for its next stage.”

“The Etrian Odyssey that you all have supported up until now, is getting ready to be born into a completely new world. We’re working hard to be able to show you our passion in the form that we’re looking to achieve, as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support.”
