In the beginning of October 2018, Sega began teasing Revolve8: Episodic Dueling, a real-time strategy game that would have Koji Igarashi as a Character Designer, Ryota-H as a Character Artist, Masayoshi Kikuchi as a Senior Producer, and Shunsuke Tsuchiya and Yasunori Mitsuda as Sound Producers. Now, we know exactly what the game is, that people can preregister for it, and that a closed beta will begin on October 23, 2018 .
In Revolve8, players are pitted against an opponent and tasked with defeating their towers within three minutes. You have a deck of eight cards representing different heroes you can use to take those towers down via duels. At the same time, you have to defend your own towers. Each of these characters is a reimagined fairy tale hero, like Cinderella, Little Match Girl, or Red Riding Hood, and could be the kind of character who specializes in defending or using different kind of attacks. You need to be cautious when building decks, as only the deck leader can use their special skill, while all heroes can use normal skills.
Pre-registration is now open for Revolve8 until until 8am ET on October 22, 2018, with the hero Kintaro being given away if over 10,000 people sign up to play and a second, secret reward that has not been announced. In addition, the closed beta test pre-registration is open. People can sign up for both via the official website. If you are picked to participate in the closed beta, that means you will be able to play between October 23 and November 2, 2018 at 2am UTC.
At the moment, character profiles and voice actors for only five characters have been revealed.
