Nuclear War game changed into support for Santa

DEFCON is one of those disturbingly dark games. Its tagline “everyone dies” is fairly accurate because that’s exactly what happens when you’re controlling a nuclear war from a remote PC. In the spirit of the holidays, one gamer turned the macabre to merry Christmas where you help Santa deliver presents instead of guiding nuclear missiles. Props go to the creators for their creativity. During Christmas the nukes go down and everybody wins.

That’s fun. I always liked when some programmer put a whole new twist on a game I was familiar with. Like Starcraft, there were some pretty interesting storylines that used Starcraft so you could play through them, using the map editor alone. A lot of work, but if done well it’s definitely worth doing. And in the spirit of the holidays to.
