Watch: Pre NES Duck Hunt

Did you know that the NES wasn’t the first system with Duck Hunt? It was originally a projector game with a battery powered rifle. In the stand alone game of Duck Hunt players would point the projector at a wall, turn down the lights and shoot orange colored ducks.

Intriguing. I was waiting to see if the annoying dog would come out and giggle. I know it’d be too difficult to do, but it’d be funny.

Very interesting! Thanks for posting. I do like the dog though. I’ve been using the dog as an avatar for years.

This is not one of the only toys they released before they started making video games. Nintendo’s been around since 1889 as a card game company and manufacturer of a whole lot of other entertainment things.

My cousins had one… I’ve been wondering what is was for a while now. I remember it being kinda cool, actually, but I was like, 4 at the time.

Just FYI, this game (not the NES Duck Hunt, but this one) inspired one of 9-Volt’s microgames in the Wii game “WarioWare Smooth Moves”.
