Watch: Play US Gamecube games on a PAL Wii

By Spencer . March 1, 2007 . 5:07am

This video clip shows a neat trick that lets PAL Wii owners enjoy NTSC Gamecube games without using a Freeloader or an action replay. To do the swap trick you need to have a PAL Gamecube disc in the Wii. Then go to the screen as if you were going to start playing the game, but don’t hit start right away. Instead hover the cursor on the start button and hit eject and A at the same time. If you get the other disc in before the blue light turns off you will be able to play Gamecube games that aren’t in your region. It’s cool that someone discovered this, but if you really want to play Gamecube imports the Freeloader is the way to go. It’s too bad that this trick doesn’t work for Wii games too…
