On the Super Famicom Satellaview there was a version of Zelda called BS Zelda (BS for Brodcast Satellaview). Gameplay was similar to the NES version of Legend of Zelda, except the game was played in real time. See the time clock in the upper right hand corner that says "Zelda time"? At set intervals players would get boomerang upgrades or for a short amount of time unlimited bombs. There were four episodes of BS Zelda and each episode had a remade map of the game to explore. Something else interesting to note is that players would use their Satellaview avatars in BS Zelda, which explains why Link isn’t the hero in the introductory clip.
Past the break is a video a gameplay video.
Vid doesn’t work for me, but have seen other stuff of it before. That would have been fun
its pretty legit though real fans get after it and beat it
The announcers were speaking in real time?! AHAHAHAHA!

ahh I think I finally understand how it used to work. If i’m not mistaken the people talking were really talking while you played. And it was kind of like a tv game hybrid right? Like a TV show in the form of a video game that you played? Wow that’s so cool… what an awesome idea too bad it never came out in north america…
