Harvest Moon: Seeds Of Memories Remembers The Good Old PsOne Farming Days

seeds Natsume is planning a new Harvest Moon title, but Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories won’t play like the Nintendo 3DS game, Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley. The Minecraft-like terraforming won’t be in the upcoming game since Seeds of Memories is designed as a retro Harvest Moon title. An early build Siliconera saw was reminiscent of the Harvest Moon games for PsOne with a low poly art style.

"We heard what our fans had to say. We got compliments as well as criticisms. One of the main issues was probably a town. This returns to the fundamentals. Is there upgrades? Yes. Is there giving gifts? Yes. Are there a variety of bachelors and bachelorettes? Yes. This isn’t a sequel to The Lost Valley," said Graham Markay, Vice President of Operations at Natsume.

The story is very much in line with other Harvest Moon titles. You arrive on a rustic farm that used to be in a striving town. As you sow crops and care for cows, the farm thrives and the townsfolk begin to remember what their town is like. Players will be able to visit residents in their homes and court five bachelors or bachelorettes.

While Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories is not a sequel to Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley, there are some familiar characters. Andrea, a clocksmith from The Lost Valley, and Luke, a herbalist from the 3DS game will return for Seeds of Memories as datable characters. Both of these characters were recently added to The Lost Valley as downloadable content. A witch bachelorette and wizard bachelor were also added due to fan requests.

Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories will be released on Wii U, PC, Android, and iOS. Natsume plans to have features that will make Seeds of Memories different on Wii U and PC compared to the smartphone versions. These features have not been announced since the game is still quite early in development.
