Street Fighter V’s Akuma Reveal Might Not Be What You Expect, In A Good Way, Says Ono

Recommended Videos

After the finals at the Red Bull Grounds earlier this month, Capcom revealed that Akuma is joining Street Fighter V; however, Yoshinori Ono recently talked to Famitsu about how it won’t exactly be what we expect. [Thanks, EventHubs.]

Here’s the little teaser from Ono-chin in the Famitsu interview:

Ono: We actually never said that a new character is coming at all. We just said that people would be able to experience what we showed in that video, that’s all, haha.
Famitsu: That’s what it meant?! Well then, at least we can confirm that there’s something to personally experience at the PSX?
Ono: Yes. That’s undeniable. But it’s going to be something that betrays everyone’s expectations, in a good way, I think.
Famitsu: Betrays everyone’s expectations?!

Ono: A lot of things have been leaked in the past, but we’ve had very strict regulations on this in particular, so please look forward to hearing what we have to announce.

In any case, we’re all looking forward to seeing what kind of tricks Ono has up his sleeve, along with what’s inside Blanka’s pocket, which will be revealed at Capcom Cup on December 2-3, 2016.

Street Fighter V is available for PlayStation 4 and PC.
