Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists recently showed off more of what Nelke has to in her daily life in order to develop the small frontier town of Westwald. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
Nelke’s days are split into work days and days off. During work days, she needs to fulfill assignments and expand the town, while on rest days she can visit the various residents and continue her research with the alchemists of the town. The players need to help her manage her schedule so that she can complete her work and fulfill her dream as well.
You need to split the work efficiently between the various alchemists of the town, and match up their strengths with the tasks at hand. As for manning the store or exploring the nearby lands, you can even send other characters like Pamela to help you out as well.
By furthering your research with the alchemists living in Westwald, you can learn new item recipes, strengthen items, and acquire rare items, all of which are useful for expanding your town and for exploration. Furthermore, there are some special recipes that can get you closer to discovering the Granzweit Tree if you work together with the alchemists.
Item research is done via a skill tree-like menu. When you reach certain levels, you will be able to do Co-op Synthesis to create special items.
With various Atelier protagonists appearing in this title, you can see the many alchemists from varying series interact.
Nelke & The Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World releases in Japan on December 13, 2018. The game releases in the West this winter for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
