7 New Digimon Virtual Pet Designs Will Arrive on October 5, 2020

Bandai Namco has opened pre-orders for a new wave of classic Digimon virtual pet models. On October 5, 2020, glow-in-the-dark, monochromatic, and neon models will be released as part of the third wave of the reproduced units. However, pre-orders are already open for the various Digimon digivices.

There are seven different designs in this wave, and they’re grouped into certain color scheme categories. The neon group includes a lot of models that don’t all exactly scream “neon,” but it’s fine. There’s a red Digivice with white accents and buttons, a purple one with black accents, a translucent green model with red highlights, and a translucent orange one with green buttons and accents. All of them are available for $19.99 each at GameStop or in an $80 bundle through Premium Bandai. (The Premium Bandai pre-orders close September 30, 2020.)

The monochromatic and glow-in-the-dark group is much smaller. There’s one black Digimon with white accents and buttons. The other is grey with black highlights. Finally, the glow-in-the-dark model has a yellow hue and green cage bars and buttons. Just like the other four, these three can be pre-ordered through GameStop separately for $19.99 each or picked up in a Premium Bandai bundle for $60.

As these are basic models and recreations of the original Digimon Digivice, don’t expect any special features like WiFi or newer characters. They’re basic virtual pets you raise and train, though if you have two you can connect them and battle them against each other. The most advanced model is the Digimon Pendulum Z

This third wave of Digimon virtual pets will arrive in North America on October 5, 2020.
