The online school Game College Lv. 99 at Aeon Fantasy will start a new course that teaches children through Pokemon Unite. From October 5-10, 2021, parents can apply for a free sample course. The school will hold the lesson over Zoom. This will give potential students the chance to see what they can learn in the classes. [Thanks, Gamer!]
According to Game College Lv. 99, the trainers at the school will use Pokemon Unite to teach children many beneficial skills. For example, children will learn how to think strategically, communicate with others, and work as a team. Similar to how a teacher in a classroom may use games to help deepen a student’s understanding of the material, the class uses Pokemon Unite as a medium to teach kids critical thinking skills while they have fun.
There is also an English course for Pokemon Unite classes at Game College Lv. 99. Because they have to play the game in English, the school suggests kids will naturally improve their reading skills. Only children from grades one to six can apply for the course. The weekly classes will start from October 16, 2021 and end on December 4, 2021.
Pokemon Unite is not the first game the school has used as teaching material. Game College Lv. 99 has also used Puyo Puyo in the past for their lessons.
Pokemon Unite is a multiplayer online battle arena game rather than the typical one on one turn-based combat in other Pokemon games. The game regularly adds new Pokemon to the ever-growing roster. The latest Pokemon to appear in the game is Sylveon.
Pokemon Unite is available on the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. The Aeon Fantasy Pokemon Unite course is only in Japan.
