Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary, and there will be a special project to celebrate it. The official Twitter account shared an image with all of the main cast grown up and with Menma and a link to a new site. It also confirmed that there will be some sort of Anohana event in Japan celebrating the series and offering news on August 28, 2021. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
From left to right, here are all of the Anohana characters appearing in the 10th anniversary key art. First, there’s Tetsudou “Poppo” Hisakawa. Behind him is Jinta “Jintan” Yadomi. He’s standing beside Meiko “Menma” Honma, who is in her trademark white dress. In front is Naruko “Anaru” Anjou. Then, in the back, there’s Atsumo “Yukiatsu” Matsuyuki standing next to a sitting Chiriko “Tsuruko” Tsurumi.
Anohana follows a group of friends as they reunite years after a key member of their group, Menma, died. Menma is still lingering as a ghost and everyone gets back together to grant her a wish so she (and they) can all move on. In addition to an anime series, light novel, movie, and manga, the series also inspired a PSP game in Japan.
Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day anime is available to watch worldwide. There will be an Anohana 10th anniversary announcement on August 28, 2021.
