When people head into a battle in Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists of the Mysterious Paintings, they may have an opportunity to engage in some new activities. It will be possible to craft items during battle with Battle Mix or Extra Mix. You can also have eight people in a fight at once for Combination Battles.
Using alchemy in a fight is a new addition to the Atelier series. Battle Mix lets the alchemists use special recipes to create new items or effects. So you could enchant a weapon with fire, temporarily, alter the battlefield or maybe even make some sort of weapon. Extra Mix will let you take an item the alchemists already made through alchemy to alter its properties and effects.
The idea of having extra allies come in and partner up isn’t uncommon in an Atelier game, but Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists of the Mysterious Paintings tweaks the concept a little bit. Eight people are technically in a fight at once, with the four in the front of each pair attacking and the four in back defending and supporting their partner. Each pair can unleash special Combination Attacks to assault enemies.
In addition to the battle information, a new Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists of the Mysterious Paintings trailer has appeared. It focuses on some of the characters we will meet and see during the game.
Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists of the Mysterious Paintings will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC in North America on March 27, 2018. It will appear in Europe on March 30, 2018. It is immediately available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan.
