Coral Pink Switch Lite Heads to North America in April 2020

Wow, that didn’t take long! The Coral Pink Switch Lite has a confirmed North American release. The new version of the handheld-only Nintendo Switch will be heading to the region on April 3, 2020.

Here’s Nintendo’s announcement tweet, where it also shows the coral pink Switch Lite alongside the green, grey, and yellow models.

While people in North America have to wait until April 2020, people in Japan get it a bit sooner. It is launching alongside Animal Crossing: New Horizons there, showing up on March 20, 2020. (This is perhaps, in part, to capitalize on the large number of women who play the game.)

As a reminder, all Switch Lite systems are more restricted. They can only be played in handheld mode and have no detachable Joy-Cons. This means that games that require motion controls are impossible to play. It also means that a potential problem like Joy-Con Drift is a more serious issue, since someone couldn’t just send the controllers in to be repaired.

The Coral Pink Switch Lite will arrive in Japan on March 20, 2020 and in North America on April 3, 2020.
