Sony has announced Driveclub VR for the PlayStation 4’s PlayStation VR headset at Gamescom 2016. It will offer single and online multiplayer racing experiences, as well as an opportunity to enjoy relaxed rides in Cruise Mode experience replays in Passenger Mode.

Passenger Mode kicks in when someone views a replay of one of their races. Instead of re-experiencing it from the driver’s seat, you’ll be in the passenger seat. This will allow people to see the race from a different angle and perhaps catch details that may otherwise have been missed.

Other new features are being added to Driveclub VR. An Inspection Mode will allow people to take a better look at over 80 of the cars available in the game. This version will also have both returning and new tracks, with five additional Urban locations. Drifting and time trial challenges will also appear.

Driveclub VR will launch in 2016. SIE Immersive Technology has been developing it for over a year. The PlayStation VR will be released on October 13, 2016.
