FFVII Remake Video Shows How a Storyboard Became the Honeybee Inn Scene

Square Enix took to the Final Fantasy VII Twitter account to share a FFVII Remake Honeybee Inn video that shows how a storyboard became an in-game dance scene. This offers a split-screen perspective. On the top, people can see the concept art. Each panel is another one in the storyboard for the scene. On the bottom, there’s the actual video showing the ensuing dance.

Here’s the full FFVII Remake Honeybee Inn “making of” video clip. It features the lead-in to the rhythm minigame involving Andrea Rhodea and Cloud Strife. As such, we don’t actually see the storyboard for the dance between Andrea and Cloud. Rather, we see the other dancers performing the show.

In the past, Square Enix mentioned the Honeybee Inn scene in FFVII Remake took the most prep time. It also showed concept art that compared it to the original game.

Some other recent behind-the-scenes tidbits focused on FFVII Remake character designs. In one series of images, Square Enix showed off details for Tifa’s “Sporty” cheongsam. This is one of the three dresses she might wear when heading to Don Corneo’s mansion. Another focused on Barret’s gun arm, showing off how it works and how he cares for it.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for the PlayStation 4, while FFVII Remake Intergrade is out on the PlayStation 5 and PC.
