There has been an update on the Mages insolvency situation: Chiyomaru Shikura, the chairman and executive director of the game developer, stepped down. Not only will Shikura continue making games, but he will also remain a part of Mages. Shikura will be an executive producer and is working in the creative side of things. On his personal Twitter account, he said that he is in discussions to continue working on games in a new position, surrounded by familiar faces. He has not stated who will replace him, and the Mages website has not announced anything yet.

During his time at the game developer, Shikura contributed to the production of Mages games such as the Science Adventure series. This includes games such as Steins;Gate and Chaos;Head. He has also worked on anime series such as Yuru Camp. Shikura was one of the founding members of the company. This is likely the first step that Colopl and Mages are taking in order to resolve its insolvency issues and get itself out of its massive debt.

Mages will likely announce the replacement for Chiyomaru Shikura in the near future.
